Su Gang Lim a member of the Church of God, whom the internet newspaper OhmyNews praised for her filial piety, received a Prize for Filial Daughter in Law in the Family Month.

On May 4, the Anyang City Government celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Parents' Day and the 82nd anniversary of the Children's Day and the 11th anniversary of the Family Day together. In this celebration the concerned officials, including Jung Dae Shin the Anyang City Mayor, Gyeong Tae Choi the Anyang City Council Chairman, and 65 prize winners and congratulators participated.

At this commemoration exercises, Su Gang received the prize. She humbled herself, saying, "I give all the glory to God for He taught me to do good deeds. Actually I only did what I should do." The Mayor congratulated her, saying, "I'm very proud that a filial daughter like you lives in my city."

Su Gang only hopes that her mother in law who is in hospital as a serious case and her sister in law who is disabled will recover their health, and that all her family are born again with God and practice His love. She said that whenever she was exhausted, she thought of God's word and got strength to care for her family again.

She finished her interview, saying, "I wish all families and society to become warm in the love of God."

"Honor your father and mother!" Su Gang Lim engraved the teaching of God on her heart and faithfully performed the role of the salt and light of the world. This reporter hope that the aroma of the Christ may spread all over the world through the good deeds of Zion's people.

Marriage and the life in the home of the husband's parents

Su Gang Lim's father in law was a fellow worker of her father. They guarded a store building together. He marked out her for his daughter in law once he saw her.

When his son in the army was on leave, he arranged their meeting and hurried them into engagement. Su Gang Lim says, "I accepted my marriage as a matter of course for my parents decided it." Her husband was the eldest son who had two brothers and two sisters. At the tenth day after he was discharged from military service, she married him.

She took care of her husband's family for a while, and then they set up a branch family as her husband moved along with his job. Raising her own son and daughter, she tasted the sweetness of life. But the period was too short. Her mother in law who had suffered from diabetes went down with cerebral hemorrhage, and for 11 years she has cared for her mother in law in her home.

Su Gang Lim has also taken care of Her widowed sister in law for 10 years who lost her health since her son died because of a car accident. To make matters worse, 3 years ago her sister in law fell to the ground while climbing mountains. Though she received a spinal operation, she suffers from its sequela. So Su Gang Lim cares for her children, too. In order to keep two households she has to practice severe economy.

Every morning, Su Gang's sister in law who lives next door comes to her mother's house only with her medicine. After eating supper, she returns home with someone's help. Now she worries about Su Gang's health, for Su Gang the pillar of her family suffers from high blood pressure for 5 years.

Su Gang lives with 3 generations: her parents in law, her husband and sister in law and her own children and sister in law's children. She setS table over 10 times a day. Even while having this interview, she goes in and out of the room of her mother in law at a small rustling sound.


A woman running always

Su Gang said she often shed tears, thinking of her difficult conditions. However, after she attended church, she tried to depend on God and live positively and now is happy, she said.

Though a market is in front of her house, she always runs to the market and within 30 minutes she finishes her shopping. and hurries back home. Only Saturday and Sunday when her husband and children rest at home, she has her own time to go to church.

She only hopes that her mother and sister in law will recover their health and her husband will attend church together with her. Saying, "If I receive a prize, my mother will be greatly pleased," she smiles brightly.
