For Mother Who Only Cares for Us

The mission of a prophet is to preach the gospel to Samaria and to the ends of the world. In order to fulfill that mission, I started to live the life of a prophet. Since I was not good at speaking a foreign language and was lacking in many ways, I could not really imagine that my dream for overseas mission would come true. However, I always kept this one thing in mind: I will respond “Amen” without hesitation if God tells me to go somewhere no matter what kind of place it is, so that I can be an instrument for the gospel, whom God is pleased to use. In March, 2010, Mother called me to go to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and I responded “Amen.”

While the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church was under construction, I had time to adjust to a cultural and language environment. Seeing that the members of the Ulaanbaatar Church were filled with an evangelistic fervor to preach the gospel, I was able to renew my mindset towards the gospel, and in December I started the gospel work in the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church. I had only one goal—to fulfill Mother’s last request, which She gave me before I left Korea.

“Please send lots of joyful news.” The only thing that can please Mother is finding Her lost children. I wanted to find many souls for sure so that I would convey the joyful news to Mother who had been sacrificeing Herself for Her children for six thousand years.

“And they will bring all your brothers, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the LORD . . . as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the LORD in ceremonially clean vessels” (Isa 66:20)

The 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church started with 200 members. However, there were only a few members who could teach the Bible. Our Zion is located more than two hours away from the 1st Ulaanbaatar Church. When the members belonged to the 1st Ulaanbaatar Church, they had to go back home did Mother feel when She had to just keep Her love for Her children inside, though She wanted to express it to them, because they forgot the language of heaven?’ Her heartbrokenness and frustration pierced my heart.

“Mother loves you so much, but I can’t deliver it to you fully because I don’t speak Mongolian well. I’m really sorry about that.”

After saying only these words, I came down from the pulpit. Then the members also shed tears. I cannot express how I felt at that time.

After that, I was able to feel that the members gradually started to open their minds. While they were learning the knowledge of heaven through the Bible little by little, one day I received a Church video from Korea. The video, depicting the sacrifice and love of Mother, changed everything in an instant.

“Mother sacrifices so much for us, but what about us? How did we spend our time each day?”
The members, who did not show any special reaction when they heard about “Mother” before, arose like a fire after they saw Mother’s love with their own eyes and realized it in their hearts. They prepared themselves to be clean vessels of faith and made a resolution to find the souls who were yearning for Elohim with a sincere heart and to offer them to Heavenly Jerusalem.
It was the start of the preaching festival, which was fervently held only with genuine emotion and gratitude towards Mother.

“Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb 13:8)

The preaching festival of the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church was held for four weeks from the middle of March, under the slogan—“Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!” Mother prays for us yesterday and today and forever. So, we should not be exhausted today after preaching the gospel fervently yesterday. We pledged ourselves to bear fruit pleasing to Mother, without skipping a day.

The members were so enthusiastic. With the knowledge of God’s word which they had diligently learned in January and February, they boldly preached the Spirit and the Bride, who came as the Saviors in this age. A member used to say that she would never preach because she felt awkward when meeting new people, but after realizing the love of Mother, she did not stop preaching the gospel even until late at night, saying that she would not go home until bearing fruit. I came to realize what it really meant to understand God’s love.

To find genuine souls, we preached the blessing of a new life only to those who eagerly wanted to receive the water of life, acknowledging the Spirit and the Bride who came as the Saviors in this age. Nevertheless, the blessing of bearing fruit continued every day. Some people even followed us to Zion, saying they wanted to be baptized. So sometimes I could not afford to do my administrative work or leave Zion even for a little while. As so many souls streamed to Zion at once, I was not even able to recognize who was who.

One day, when there was a gathering in Zion, I felt as if I was in another Zion, because there were many new members whose faces were unfamiliar to me. It turned out that they came to Zion to preach the gospel only a couple of days after they had been led to Zion. I was worried how they would preach the Word, but soon I realized that all my worrying was for nothing. They preached Heavenly Mother to people without any hesitation. So, we were able to bear 300 good fruits in just four weeks.

After the preaching festival, our first Passover in the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church drew near. Although God granted us a large place of worship, it was too small for us all; when we calculated the number of those who wanted to celebrate the Passover, they were too many to gather together in Zion at once. By the grace of Mother, we celebrated the Passover in a big hall together with the members of the 1st Ulaanbaatar Church. I was truly thankful to be able to keep my first Passover in Mongolia with so many members of the heavenly family, including 450 members of the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church.

The central part of Ulaanbaatar is flat land, which is urbanized, but there is a mountainous area on the outskirts of the city, where you can see the ger districts (a ger is a traditional Mongolian portable habitation/tent). Many of our members also live in gers. The roads are so rugged that the cars running on them seem as if they are going to break down soon, and when it rains, it creates potholes in the roads and we often fall into the holes. Whenever the members come to Zion, they have to walk down those bumpy roads for quite a while to take a bus. When they go back to their home in the evening, they have to make their way through complete darkness because there are no street lights. However, they are so eager to gather to Zion to find their lost heavenly family members; their fervor is beyond description.

At first, their hearts were like stones on which it was hard to inscribe anything. Now, however, once something is engraved on their hearts, they followed it with all their heart, mind and soul. It is “Mother” that has been engraved deep in their hearts.

‘If I do not preach the gospel, how much more distressed Mother must be!’ Thinking that way, they never stop preaching the Word even in poor and difficult situations. They walk the same path yesterday, today and tomorrow.

“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” (Jer 23:24)

There is a strong influence of Buddhism and Shamanism in Mongolia, and it also has a “religious code.” So the procedures for the establishment and registration of churches are very complicated. Most Mongolians hold an unfavorable view of Christianity or feel unfamiliar with it, so they show an unwelcome attitude when we say that we believe in God. However, their attitude completely changes when they hear the truth.

There was a person who flatly refused and passed us by when we told her that we were preaching the words of the Bible. At that time, a member shouted, “Do you know that God the Mother exists?” At that moment, she suddenly looked back and said, “What do you mean? I’ve never heard of that before.” Then she studied the Bible, and was reborn as a child of Mother immediately.

What is really surprising is that they discern the truth once they start to study the Word, even though most of them do not know the Bible well. They also have no idea what it is to preach the gospel, but they deliver what they have once learned to their family, and Zion is soon crowded with their family members. A couple of days ago, a person visited Zion and said, “I can feel that God dwells here.” Then he studied the Bible, and led all his family to Zion.

I am lacking in many things, so I cannot do anything by myself. Every day, I witness the work of Mother spreading, which is unexplainable in human words. A branch Church was quickly established in Dundgovi as well, which is located 300 kilometers away from here. In fact, we could not afford to reclaim the gospel in another region although we wanted to because we were short of gospel workers. Then Mother displayed Her power in an unexpected area; a new member, who had received the truth right after the service because it was very far from their homes. So they did not have enough time to study the Bible. They were also unfamiliar with the atmosphere and culture of Zion. Probably because of that, they often showed an aggressive attitude—which is an ethnic characteristic of Mongolians who do not usually say “hi” or “thank you.”

Mother told me that if I taught them God’s will well, they would obediently put it into practice. I really had to teach them “well.” However, the gospel workers were very few, so I was unable to take care of all the members although I visited them all day long, even skipping meals. Some members, who were unaware of this difficult situation, expressed their disappointment, saying that I did not visit them frequently after they branched out from the 1st Church. Whenever I heard them say that, my heart felt weighed down.

Those who felt more anxious and distressed than anyone else were the few workers who had always been busy preaching the gospel and taking care of the members. Still, they repented and asked pardon from each and every member, saying, “I should have worked harder. I’m so sorry that I didn’t take better care of you.”

I, too, had to work harder with patience to lead the members to have enough faith to enter the kingdom of heaven. So I tried to approach them first to greet them politely. During the first two months of 2011, I concentrated on teaching them the truth of God.

The problem was my poor proficiency in Mongolian. I did not make myself fully understood or sometimes I made myself misunderstood. I wanted to say heartfelt words of comfort to them, but I only spoke simple and straightforward words to them, and sometimes I hurt them with my words. Although I wanted to convey Mother’s love to them, my words were hurting them rather than delivering love to them.

I used to shed tears secretly, and one day when I was standing on the pulpit to deliver a sermon, I was all choked up. I couldn’t say anything but just kept crying. ‘How during the preaching festival, led people around him to the truth when he returned to his hometown.

After hearing this, some of the members went on a three-day short-term mission trip to Dundgovi. They had to take a 12 hour bus ride to get there. On the bus, they preached the Word to the passengers, and when they arrived in Dundgovi, they led many precious souls to God, resisting those who hindered once for all with God’s word.

The day after they returned from Dundgovi, I received a phone call from there. It was a delightful call saying, “Why don’t you teach us the Bible more?” I started to teach them the Bible right away over the phone. I was very happy to imagine the scene where twenty members were gathered together to listen attentively to me teach the Bible, with the speakerphone turned on.

Recently, some of our members visited Korea; it was the first time that the members of the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church joined the visiting group to Korea. 2,000 years ago, the apostles asked for the Holy Spirit while staying in Jerusalem for ten days, and after receiving the Holy Spirit they made a remarkable change in their faith. Likewise, the members had completely changed when they returned from Korea after receiving the fullness of the Holy Spirit from Mother while staying with Her for ten days. A member, who was afraid of preaching before, delivers God’s word boldly now, as Peter and Paul did. Another member, who used to be shy and hesitant to greet others, now greets everyone courteously.

It seems as if a chemical reaction has occurred in them. The moment their knowledge of the Bible is mixed with Mother’s love, it brings forth an incredible change in them. Mother gives us the spiritual food at the proper time and leads us personally, always helping us. Indeed, She fills heaven and earth.

For Mother who only cares for us

Now, the main topic of conversation among the members is “Mother’s love.” They do not simply say, “Mother loves us.” Rather, they say, “Mother sacrifices so much for us, but She never says or shows that She is tired, and She loves us untiringly. However, we often say or show that we are tired, unable to tolerate even the smallest things that annoy us. We must not do that anymore. Let us put love and patience into practice, as Mother does.” Their thoughtful consideration touches me deeply.

They put their mindset into action right away. Until late at night, they preach the gospel, even forgetting to eat. These days, I am busy calling them to come to eat at every mealtime and telling them to stop and go home. I remember when I went through a hard time due to a lack of gospel workers. However, God brought forth many good gospel workers within a short period of time, and I have thought that the gospel work has achieved its stability to some degree. Moreover, the workers preach the gospel so fervently that the number of members has doubled.

Now we are asking God again to send us more gospel workers. We also ask God to give us the ability to preach the Word so that we can deliver Mother’s love well and to allow us to have a divine personality like that of Mother to serve the members sincerely. We all pray that we will bear abundant fruit through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The greatest wish of the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church is to repay Mother’s love. We want to repay Mother, always thinking, ‘What can we do to please Mother?’ with sincere love and gratitude towards Her, rather than loving Her conditionally because we have received love from Her. We all know well the way to repay Mother. Finding our lost heavenly family members—that is the only way to repay Her.

Mongolia is divided into 21 aimags (provinces), which are divided into 315 sums (districts). We will diligently preach the gospel to find good fruits pleasing to Mother, no matter what hardships we may encounter, so that Zion will be established not only in Ulaanbaatar but in every aimag and all the other regions of Mongolia. Only for Mother!

Since I came overseas, I have been feeling that Mother is right beside me; it is a really amazing feeling. One day, I went to Khuvsgul by bus, which is 20 hours away from Ulaanbaatar. The seats on the bus did not even have headrests and were so cramped. It also had no heat despite the freezing weather—the temperature dropped to 30-40 degrees below zero Celsius, so my hands and feet felt numb and my breath turned to steam in the bitter winter air. The bus crossed the frozen river and went over the hill without roads. Like that, the bus ran for 20 hours. While on the bus, I couldn’t stop thinking about Mother.

‘What would our Mother do if there were Her daughters beyond the river and Her sons over the mountain, waiting for Her? She would surely get there by any means.’

Although I carried out the gospel work for a long time in Korea, I just knew Mother’s heart in my head. Only after experiencing the pain of my frozen hands and feet and crossing over the mountain and river can I realize the heart of Mother even a little bit.

Overseas mission—it is accompanied by many hardships, but it gives us great happiness that we can serve Mother more closely. Of course, we are to go through “joyful suffering” for the gospel wherever we are—whether in our country or overseas. We, the members of the 2nd Ulaanbaatar Church, always pray for the members of Zion throughout the world who work hard for the gospel with a single-minded yearning for Mother, who sacrifices for us even at this moment. Lastly, I would like to end with a wish: Our loving heavenly family members, may you all receive the blessings of the Holy Spirit of the latter rain abundantly from Mother!
