On January 28, when it was drizzling as if to hasten the arrival of spring, the “2010 Scholarship and Grant Awards Ceremony” was held in the WMC Head Office to encourage the students to study harder and to boost their faith before the start of a new semester. 101 middle and high school students as well as 51 freshmen attended the awards ceremony together with their parents. They had a meaningful time setting up goals in their life of faith and solidifying their academic volition.

Before the ceremony, Mother expressed Her joy over the students who were growing upright, and asked them to look after their friends in need and to maintain good friendship with them as God’s sons and daughters, even though they were living in a highly competitive environment because of the entrance exam. She also instructed them, saying, “Please try your best in your school life and in your life of faith as well, relying on God who grants you result as much as you pray and try. Display the glory of God through your good deeds as a good example for others, so you can bear beautiful fruit” (Mt 5:16; Mt 7:7-11).

General Pastor Joo-cheol Kim emphasized that it is the students’ duty to honor God, respect their elders, and save the souls of their friends while studying hard their subjects in school and the Bible as well. He also wished they would play a leading role in the gospel work, saying, “Please set a definite goal and carry it out, cherishing great faith and dreams in your hearts, so that you can open the door to a bright future as the dew of the dawn.”

Soon the awards ceremony began. Mother awarded scholarship certificates to the representative of the freshmen and of the existing students, and She encouraged both the students who were trying their best to study hard and their parents who were making efforts to raise their children the right way. The students demonstrated their firm resolution by saying, “We give thanks to Elohim for the love and grace They have given us. We will gain ten more talents by preaching the gospel to our friends and leading them to Zion through our good words and deeds while studying hard.” With the spirit of youth like the dew of the dawn, they vigorously started the new semester.
