From the Pentateuch to Revelation, God proclaimed the truth through His prophets—through the writings which they wrote for God—in the age of the Father and of the Son. In the Holy Spirit’s age, God came to this earth again, and He personally wrote the words of life and shone the light of salvation on this dark world without the truth.
On December 11, the 12th Melchizedek Literary Awards Ceremony was held at the WMC Head Office building. The Melchizedek Literary Awards Ceremony, which marked its 12th anniversary in 2011, is an event to produce the literary prophets who contribute to the cause of the gospel through writings inspired by the Holy Spirit. The awards ceremony was attended by the prize winners, the final entrants, the writers and consultants who had supported the production of various publications, and the members from a literary society. They all reminded themselves of the mission of the literary prophets.
During the worship service—the first part of the ceremony, Mother encouraged Her children who convey the love of God through their beautiful writings to all parts of the world, including the places where the gospel could hardly reach. Then She instilled a sense of pride in their hearts, saying, “Each and every one of you is an evangelist who does the work of several people in various fields—publication, video, internet media and so on. Additionally, Mother instructed them: “Apostle Paul devoted himself fully to the gospel despite all kinds of hardship. So, his writings bring the heavenly hope to our hearts today. Likewise, when you write with self-control and faith even in difficulties, your writings can help many people understand the profound principle of salvation and move their hearts.” She also blessed them to lead many souls to repentance by boasting about the truth and displaying God’s glory through good writings, so that they would receive great rewards at the awards ceremony in heaven.
After the worship service, two videos were presented. The first video entitled “The Literary Prophets of God Who Convey God’s Sacrifice and Love” illuminated the historical situation when Heavenly Father wrote the Truth Books. It depicted the anxious heart of Father who wrote the words of life line by line to save His children, using ink and paper which He bought with the wages He earned by doing hard manual labor when Korea had a very difficult time economically after the Korean War.
It was followed by a flash video of the award-winning essay “Injin Mugwort and Jaechup Soup”; the author described the love of Heavenly Mother, which she felt through her childhood memories of her mom, in an honest and amiable style, and it brought laughter and emotion to the attending members.
Then the awards ceremony started. From June 13 to July 31, many entries were submitted in various categories—short story, essay, fairy tale, editorial, news article, and much more—written in many languages including Korean, English, Spanish, and Chinese. As a result, 23 winners were selected and received awards at the 12th Melchizedek Literary Awards Ceremony. Mother personally presented each and every winner with a certificate and a prize, and She conveyed words of congratulation and blessing to them one by one. The awards winners expressed their determined will, saying, “The Truth Books, which Father wrote under the dim lamplight, are now lighting up the world brightly. Following the example of Father who is the best literary prophet, we will try our hardest to find our lost heavenly family members through our writings which contain God’s sacrifice and love that we have realized while preaching the gospel.”
Before and after the awards ceremony, there was an exhibition on the theme of “literary mission and the gospel” on the fifth floor of the Head Office building. Various types of displays caught the members’ eyes, including a chronological chart that provides an outline for the development of the literary mission, the Truth Books that are translated into 40 languages and distributed to all parts of the global village, and many other publications.

The exhibition gave the members at-a-glance insight into the whole process of the literary mission which was started by Heavenly Father and stood as a signpost of salvation for all people in the world, transcending borders and cultures. They expressed in writing their determination—‘We will convey the will of God correctly as the gospel writers who are called in this age, after the prophets of the Old and New Testaments’—on the Animo [Cheer up] board which was prepared for them to share encouraging messages and their resolutions as the literary prophets.
They are the literary prophets who follow in the footsteps of Father who shone the light of life through His writings of sacrifice and love. It is expected that each and every article written by them will be a life-giving writing which contains the love and sacrifice of Elohim God, so it can move the world and speed up the fulfillment of the gospel.
